At NexGoal, we take the placing of our athlete-candidates in their new careers very seriously – which is why our project coordinators spend so much time working with each candidate to put them in the best position to succeed. Once our candidates are placed, we like to take the time to share that candidate’s experience will all of you.
Recently, Taylor Evans had the opportunity to work with former Butler University football player, Pete Xander. Xander wanted to take the next step in his career in sports with one of our valued clients, so he turned to NexGoal. Not only does Pete join the list of former athletes we have placed, but he is the first former athlete that we have placed in a sports career!
When we asked Xander about why he wanted to work with NexGoal and what he enjoyed most about working with us, he said, “I was contacted via LinkedIn about a new opportunity. NexGoal did a really great job of being the middle-man. It allowed me to vet out questions before going back to my potential employer. They [NexGoal] also did a great job of advocating for me and getting me as much information as possible and helping me think through the decision of whether this job was a good fit.”
Next, we asked Xander what he enjoyed most about working with his project coordinator. “Taylor Evans was great to work with. This opportunity came up during a busy time for me at my current job, plus I was getting married and was extremely busy outside of the office. Taylor did a great job of keeping me on task and setting up calls and meetings with the Thunderbolts so that I could learn as much as possible about them before making my decision. He was extremely responsive to all forms of communication (email, text, call) which was really helpful and something I greatly appreciated.”
Finally, we asked him why others should use NexGoal to help find their next career. He said:
“NexGoal has the type of people you want to work for. They advocate for you without being too pushy. They were respectful of my current work situation. They did a great job of finding a position that was a great step for me and will challenge me professionally for years to come. I would definitely reach out to them next time I was in need of a job change.”
The team here at NexGoal would like to thank Pete for his kind words, and we wish him the best of luck in his new career!
